Hillary Swank won an Oscar for her role as Brandon Teena in Boys Don’t Cry. Based on a true story of a courageous transgendered teen who chooses to live her life as a male. Teena Brandon changes her identity and her name to Brandon Teena, and moves to a small Nebraska town to escape a troubled past. Brandon’s life moves on until a trip to jail for a traffic violation exposes her female identity.
