The Friedmans seemed to be an ordinary upper-middle class family living in Great Neck, Long Island. However normal their lives may have seemed, that all changed one evening when the police raided the Friedman home arresting Arnold Friedman and his son Jesse, charging them with hundreds of shocking crimes. The family took home videos during the time that Arnold and Jesse were home awaiting trial. This footage, along with Filmmaker Andrew Jarecki’s documentation of the trial and emotional struggles of the family, resulted in the documentary Capturing the Friedmans.
