It is fine (and can be fun) to dress up like someone else–especially on Halloween; just don’t take the impersonation too far. RCW 9A.60.040 and 045 define criminal impersonation. In a nutshell, you can dress up like a law enforcement officer but don’t use the ruse for “personal gain” (whatever that means). In case you are wondering, the statute has no specific references to the use of handcuffs.
