The law library recently began a subscription to TradeLawGuide, a new WTO law research database. TradeLawGuide provides access to WTO agreements, instruments, jurisprudence and other documents including pre-WTO materials. The database has several unique features such as a Subject Navigator and a Terms & Phrases tool that provides quotations of terms and phrases as defined in WTO agreements, instruments and jurisprudence. TradeLawGuide also allows users to “note up” WTO law. Similar to Shepardizing, “noting up” refers to examining the judicial treatment of legislation or jurisprudence. In addition to providing access to primary WTO and pre-cursor materials, TradeLawGuide also includes attorney prepared case Commentaries which provide insights and legal assessment of recent WTO cases.
TradeLawGuide can be accessed via the law library’s A-Z database list.Tags: guide, Travel law
